Click to enlargeOtter Barn will cater for up to five people and is a traditional Devon barn conversion containing it’s original oak beams and wood flooring in the main living areas, situated in the picturesque East Devon village of Otterton.

Otterton with its numerous thatched houses (many of which are from the 17th century), village green, working mill, design studios, café and pub is a small village of some 500 inhabitants that is on the River Otter approximately 1˝ miles up river from the coast at Budleigh Salterton.

The regional capital of Exeter with its Norman cathedral and popular university is 12 miles away to the north.

Click to enlargeExmouth, which is 7 miles away to the west, has a harbour and very large sandy beach. It is the western most part of the World Heritage Jurassic coast.

Click to enlargeBudleigh Salterton is a peaceful coastal town at the mouth of the Otter River and is easily approached by walking along a peaceful foot path from Otterton. It has a large pebble beach which stretches a good mile westwards.

Ladrum Bay is situated a short walk from Otterton and is well known for its red sandstone stacks in the bay.

A beautiful cliff-top walk over Peak Hill leads to Sidmouth with its esplanade, gardens, mixed sand and pebble beach (depending on the tide) and an excellent selection of privately owned shopsClick to enlarge.

Further east lie’s Branscombe, Beer with its small pebbled beach, fish market and Seaton.

Apart from the obvious coastal attractions, from Otterton there are many beautiful walks of differing standards of difficulty, five very different golf courses within 10 miles, children’s play parks with rides and amusements to excite all ages, exquisite gardens and many examples of historical features worth visiting.
